Reading widgets
Your reading, on your home screen.
Leaf widgets show today's progress, the book you are reading, and your challenge pace on your home screen, and on iPhone your lock screen too. The next page is one glance away. Free on iPhone and Android.

The widgets
Progress ring
A ring that fills as you move toward today's goal, with a check mark once it is done. Sized for the lock screen or the home screen.
Currently reading
The book you are reading with a bar for today. A larger version also shows how far you are through the whole book.
A fresh start each day
On Android, the home screen widget turns over to the new day on its own, even if you have not opened Leaf, so the morning never starts with yesterday's numbers.
Add Note
A one-tap shortcut that opens a new note on the book you are reading, or asks which one if you are reading several.
Reading challenge
For a running challenge: days left, today's page pace, and how many books on the list you have finished. It shows the plan and your progress, not a score.
Save to reading list
For the moment a title comes up in conversation: tap to open Leaf and save it to your reading list before you forget.

Why a widget helps a reading habit
Most skipped reading days are not a decision. The book just slipped out of view. A widget keeps it where you look many times a day, without a notification asking for your attention, and that small reminder is often what keeps a reading streak going.
Frequently asked questions
Does Leaf have a widget for iPhone?
Yes. On iPhone, Leaf has home screen and lock screen widgets: a progress ring for today's goal, your current book, a reading summary, Add Note and Save-to-list shortcuts, and a reading challenge widget.
Is there a Leaf widget for Android?
Yes. Android has a resizable home screen widget with your current book and today's progress, plus Add Note, Save to reading list, and reading challenge widgets. Leaf can add them to your home screen in one tap.
How do I add a Leaf widget to my lock screen?
On iPhone, long-press the lock screen, tap Edit and then the + button, search for Leaf, and choose the progress ring, current book, Add Note, Save to reading list, or challenge widget. Lock screen widgets are an iPhone feature; on Android, Leaf widgets live on the home screen.
Does the widget reset when a new day starts?
Yes. Widgets show today's goal, so a new day starts from zero. On Android, the widget turns over to the new day on its own, even if you have not opened Leaf.
Can I add a note from a widget?
Yes. The Add Note widget opens a new note on the book you are reading, or asks which one if you are reading several.
Are Leaf widgets free?
Yes, every widget is free. The challenge widget shows a challenge once you are running one, which needs a Challenge Pass or Leaf Pro.
