1. Description of the Service

The App is a mobile application that helps users track their reading habits, set goals, build streaks, and manage their book library. The App offers a free tier with local data storage and an optional paid subscription ("Leaf Pro") that provides cloud backup, multi-device sync, and an ad-free experience.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

Account creation is optional. You may use the App without creating an account, in which case your data is stored locally on your device only.

To access Leaf Pro features, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information through your sign-in provider
• Maintain the security of your account and device
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized access to your account
• Not create multiple accounts for abusive purposes

You may delete your account at any time from the App's Settings screen. Account deletion permanently removes your authentication credentials and all cloud-synced data from our servers.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

4.1 Leaf Pro Subscription

Leaf Pro is an optional paid subscription that provides cloud backup, multi-device sync, and an ad-free experience. Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis and may include a free trial period.

4.2 Billing

All subscriptions are processed and billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. By subscribing, you agree to the payment terms presented at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4.3 Free Trials

A free trial may be offered for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google on a per-account basis.

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not process refunds directly — refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google as per their respective policies.

4.5 Expiration and Data Retention

When your subscription expires or is cancelled, cloud sync stops immediately. Your local data is fully preserved on your device. Your cloud data is retained for 90 days, allowing you to resubscribe and restore your synced data. After 90 days without an active subscription, your cloud data is permanently deleted.

5. Cloud Sync

Leaf Pro subscribers can sync their reading data (books, progress, streaks, and settings) across multiple devices. Cloud sync operates automatically when connectivity is available and works offline — data syncs when the device reconnects.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure data integrity during sync, but we do not guarantee that synced data will never be lost or corrupted. We recommend keeping the App installed on at least one device as a local backup.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not misuse, interfere with, or disrupt the App or its services
• Not attempt to access the App using automated or unauthorized means
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy , which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, including account information, reading data, and location information.

By using the App, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and understood the Privacy Policy.

8. Location Data

The App may request access to your device's location to determine your country for currency and pricing purposes. Location access is optional and subject to your consent. You may enable or disable location access at any time through your device settings.

9. Advertising

The App may display advertisements provided by third-party services, including Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your location and consent preferences. Leaf Pro subscribers do not see advertisements.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by or licensed to the App owner and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without prior written permission.

11. Third-Party Services

The App may include or rely on third-party services, including but not limited to Supabase (authentication and data storage), RevenueCat (subscription management), Mixpanel (analytics), Sentry (error tracking), and Google AdMob (advertising). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services. Your use of such services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that cloud sync will be available at all times.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of reading progress, or interruption of cloud sync services.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or your account at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Any active subscription must be cancelled separately through Apple or Google.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17. Platform-Specific Terms

The App is licensed, not sold, to you regardless of the platform from which you download it.

17.1 Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that this agreement is between you and the App developer only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. The license granted to you is limited to a non-transferable right to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App.

17.2 Google Play

If you downloaded the App from Google Play, you acknowledge that this agreement is between you and the App developer only, and not with Google LLC. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content.
